May 28, 2021

OHL North America has signed a partnering agreement with the U.S. government safety agency (OSHA) and the University of South Florida for best safety practices on the South Corridor Bus Rapid Transit project, in the USA.

The partnership agreement will facilitate best safety practices on this project in which the company is serving as design-build contractor for client, Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works, with the aim to convert the South Dade TransitWay to a state-of-the-art Bus Rapid Transit line running on 20 miles of exclusive right-of-way. It is one of six rapid transit corridors of the Strategic Miami Area Rapid Transit Plan (SMART).

This agreement endorses the OHL commitment to implementing safety initiatives that better protect employees on the job. As an example, the OHL USA team working at the US Highway 27 Improvement project in Palm Beach County, Florida was selected as the recipient of the prestigious Sunshine State Safety Recognition Award last February.

OHL has been operating in the USA market since 2006 via its subsidiaries OHL USA, Inc., OHL Judlau Contracting, Inc., OHL Community Asphalt Corporation, and OHL Building, Inc.

Participating in this important event were OHL North America, OSHA and University of South Florida representatives.
