OHL exceeds 60% of the construction of the National Forensic Mental Health Hospital of Ireland

The construction works of the National Forensic Mental Health Hospital (NFMHS) in Portrane, north of Dublin (Ireland) are advancing at a good pace. This is evidenced by the fact that OHL and its local partner JJ Rhatigan have exceeded 60% of the total of the works of a project characterized by more than 24,000 m² of surface area and that rises over an area of ​​more than 22 hectares, located in the hospital campus of St. Ita’s Hospital. The building will be used to provide Mental Health care services to children and adolescents, care for the intellectually disabled, intensive care, primary care and rehabilitation therapy.

The construction project of the NFMHS, endowed with a budget of 130 million euro, also includes the execution of spaces destined to energy production systems, maintenance and horticulture. At present, multiple works on mechanical, electrical and other systems are being developed; interior works of false ceilings and partitioning, finishing floors and walls; beginning of the start-up of the industrial building, connections to the main gas, water and electricity utilities.

OHL has nine decades of experience in the field of hospital construction, translated into more than 150 new hospitals -equivalent to 6 million m², approximately, and more than 60,000 beds, close to 100 health centers and more than 200 renovation and rehabilitation activities. The activity, initiated in Spain, extends to countries such as the US, Chile and the Czech Republic, Portugal, Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador, Uruguay, the Antilles and Ireland. Currently, OHL is carrying out the construction of the University Hospital of Toledo (Spain), the Hospital de Curicó (Chile) and the new general internal medicine and geriatrics building at the University Hospital of Olomuc, the sixth largest hospital in the Czech Republic, among others.
