OHL joins various initiatives on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

November 25, 2015

On 25 November, as part of the celebration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the OHL Group joined several campaigns launched by official entities, such as the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality (MSSSI) and non-governmental organizations, such as the Fundación Integra, with which the Group has been working since 2002.

For the third consecutive year, the Group has joined the initiative launched by the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality entitled Any way out of gender violence is thanks to you. Please join, which aims at encouraging social awareness and collaboration on the basis that “the eradication of gender violence is everyone’s problem”. To do this, OHL will distribute pins amongst its employees for the visibility of the company’s commitment to fight gender violence.

In addition, the Group has adhered to the campaign entitled “In gender violence, you can look the other way; the children of female victims CAN’T”, launched by the Fundación Integra and focusing on minors, the invisible victims of assaults within the family who act as witnesses in 63% of all cases, according to MSSSI data. In this context, the Fundación Integra -the main mission of which is to ensure the incorporation into society of groups at a risk of exclusion, through employment on the job market- recalls that one of the most effective means to fight against domestic violence is to provide the victims with the necessary tools to become independent. These tools are obtained through employment opportunities, allowing them to start a new life.

The company’s adhesion to the Fundación Integra’s campaign is added to OHL’s commitment to this entity and to others such as the Spanish Red Cross and the Adecco Foundation, as well as the Public Employment Service. OHL, collaborating through its OHL Services-Ingesan division, has been able to include on staff, during the first half of 2015, more than 20 female victims of gender violence, in addition to the nearly 40 employment contracts of this kind executed over 2014.
