OHL, present at the I Technological Innovation and Circular Economy Summit

OHL has been present at the I Technological Innovation and Circular Economy Summit organized by the Advanced Leadership Foundation and the INCYDE Foundation. This encounter, held in Madrid on July 6th, has the objectives of raising awareness on the benefits to society and the environment of a new sustainable economic model, as well as the creation of a network composed of 300 leaders who are called to divulge how innovation and a circular economy represent a unique opportunity for the economic growth and future of the country. Among them, Andrés Rodriguez from the Corporate Sustainability Area has been selected in representation of OHL.
This event brought together political representatives of the highest national and international level, such as the 44th President of the United States of America, Barack Obama; the President Elect of Colombia, Iván Duque; the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, María Reyes Maroto or the Minister of Ecologic Transition, Teresa Ribera. Also present were some of the most influential figures at a global level in the areas of economy, sustainable development and innovation such as Sir Christopher A. Pissarides and Finn Kydland, awarded the Nobel Prize for Economy in 2010 and 2004 respectively and Barry Barish, Nobel Prize for Physics in 2017, among others.
Low-carbon and circular economy
The advance towards a circular economy is one of the pillars of OHL’s sustainability strategy, together with the commitment to fighting against climate change, efficient management of water resources and biodiversity protection.
OHL is a member of the Pact for a Circular Economy, promoted by the Ministry of
Agriculture and Fishery, Food and Environment of Spain. It is also a member of the Circular Economy Business Action Group, promoted by Forética with the object of generating consciousness and collaborating with Public Administrations in circular economy strategies and it is a member of the Spanish Group of Green Growth, to transmit the potential of this model of economic growth for Spain to society in general and to all the potential interest groups.
