Zero emissions and eco-vehicles will be used to reduce carbon footprint

OHLA Group is awarded two new contracts for street and beach cleaning in Huelva for more than 14 million euros

OHLA’s Services division will execute two new contracts for street and beach cleaning in Isla Cristina and Valverde del Camino, in the province of Huelva (Andalusia, Spain). Both projects will use zero and eco-labeled vehicles to reduce both CO2 emissions and noise levels.

The first contract, awarded for an amount close to 14 million euros for a period of eight years, consists of the public service of street and beach cleaning in the municipality of Isla Cristina. Street cleaning activities will cover an area of 312,000 m2 and beach cleaning activities will cover an area of 220,000 m2. The actions to be performed include manual and mechanical beach cleaning services, manual and mechanical sweeping, as well as sweeping and scrubbing of sidewalks and roadways and extraordinary cleaning services during festivities.

The second two-year contract covers street cleaning services in the town of Valverde del Camino. Specifically, it will address the cleaning of the streets of the town through manual and mechanical sweeping, sweeping and scrubbing of sidewalks and roads and extraordinary cleaning in festivals.

These contracts are in addition to others that the company has in Huelva, such as the home help service in the town of Isla Cristina, street cleaning in Cartaya, as well as the cleaning and maintenance of the judicial offices in the province.
