Spain / Seville
  • 180,000 hours of engineering
  • 148 GWh electricity produced/year
  • 50 MW Installed capacity

This thermosolar power generation plant is located in the municipality of Morón de la Frontera (Seville), with nominal capacity of 50 megawatts (MW), through a solar field of cylinder-parabolic collectors, with an open solar surface area of approximately 510,020 square meters and a thermal storage system using melted salts, able to operate for seven hours. Its useful life is at least 25 years.

Benefits for the community

  • The plant is designed to generate 148 gigawatts per hour (GWh) of annual electricity
  • It is able to supply clean electricity to 42,000 homes
  • It avoids the emission of 113,000 tons/year of carbon dioxide (CO2) from fossil fuels
