June 22, 2015

Novaire, a subsidiary of the OHL Group specializing in the management of residential and day centers for the elderly in Alicante, Castellón and Valencia, has been awarded the prize A New Look at Old Age for its “Longevity. Portraits of the wrinkles of time” initiative. The reward, granted by the Spanish Geriatrics and Gerontology Association (SEGG) is part of the IV Edition of the A New Look at Old Age Prize SEGG 2015, rewarding outstanding communication campaigns aimed at providing a real and stereotype-free image of the elderly in the media between 2014 and 2015.

José Antonio Rabadán Sánchez, Manager of Clients and Healthcare Coordination at Novaire, gathered the prize from the hands of Antonio Martínez Maroto, member of the jury of the Aging Image Work Group, at an act included in the closing ceremony of the 57th SEGG Conference, held between 3, 4 and 5 June in San Sebastián. The ceremony was attended by José Antonio López Trigo and Carlos Verdejo Bravo, Geriatrics Chairman and Vice-chairman, respectively of the SEGG, and Pilar Rodríguez Rodríguez, President of the Pilares Foundation for Personal Independence and Gerontology Vice President of the SEGG, amongst other personalities.

“Longevity. Portraits of the wrinkles of time” is the name given to the III Miradas Cómplices Photography Competition 2014, used by Novaire to dignify the image of this social group, its experience and wisdom through wrinkles and old age. Miradas Cómplices is a communication project launched by Novaire in 2012, as part of the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations (EY2012). With this initiative, using pictures of elderly people in various formats, the company would like to achieve a social representation system that is fairer and more in line with the values and needs of this social group.

Novaire, a member of the OHL Servicios division, operates as a manager of residential and day centers for the elderly in 11 homes located in the Region of Valencia. The company focuses its social commitment in employment matters on equal opportunities, measures to balance work/family life and to enable persons at a risk of social exclusion to join the job market, through the OHL Servicios Equality Plan.
