Success Stories

Implementation of BIM in the company’s key processes

The company understands BIM (“Building Information Modeling”) as a project management methodology, eminently collaborative and based on the integration of value data into digital models. The company considers it key to implement the processes and tools commonly encompassed under this BIM concept that add value to the company and its stakeholders.

To this end, it is adopting a global implementation in a coordinated and progressive way under four main guidelines: to orient all BIM-related actions towards specific uses that add value in their projects, effectively responding to the specific needs of each geographical area, client and contract; place people at the centre, through appropriate training and cooperation through a large internal global BIM community; progressively develop and adopt processes and standards that facilitate efficient BIM management within the company and in relation to third parties; and optimize the interrelationships of the processes and tools associated with BIM with the rest of the company’s processes and tools, especially with regard to data management.

The company has extensive experience in the use of BIM at the project level, in actions such as: Station 72 of the New York Metro (USA), the Américo Vespucci highway (Chile), the EPC Ski railway project (Norway), the Caleido Tower in Madrid (Spain), the Gustavo Fricke and Curicó hospitals (Chile) and the National Museum of Archaeology – MUNA – in Lima (Peru).

High-strength concrete

In the area of high-strength structural concrete (HSC), the company has developed different solutions, with special characteristics in terms of their weight, pumping capacity, self-compacting, high initial strength, low shrinkage, low hydration heat and very high long-term strength.

Examples of this type of concrete can be found in some of the emblematic infrastructure and building projects constructed by the company, such as its headquarters in Madrid, Torrespacio, the Ciudad de la Justicia in Barcelona, and the T4 terminal at the Adolfo Suárez – Madrid Barajas Airport.

High-tech road surfaces

The company has gained extensive research experience in the field of asphalt mixtures, roadway surfaces, and asphalt, in both the design of their components as well as their handling and installation at the worksite.

The R&D activities in this area have generated multiple innovations, especially in the field of paving techniques related to asphalt, where the company has been a pioneer in its use in Spain, and internationally, exporting its technology to different countries.

The wide range of solutions developed includes road surfaces that are more flexible, stronger, longer lasting, sustainable and economical, and that drain better.
