OHL has been awarded a new road infrastructure project in Spain. The contract, valued at more than 21.3 million euro, has been awarded by the Directorate General of Roads, under the Ministry of Development, to improve 7.3 km of the National Road II (N-II) as it passes through the provinces of Barcelona and Girona.
Specifically, OHL will carry out various actions on the Tordera-Maçanet de la Selva section in order to condition it and adapt it to the design speed of 80 km/h, improve accessibility to the surrounding population centers and increase road safety in the area.
The construction of two viaducts at kilometer points 687+000 and 687+600, 160 m and 110 m long, respectively, the construction and adaptation of 9 km of service roads on both sides of the road, and the construction of a new roundabout are some of the actions envisaged in the award. These works are added to the drainage tasks in the Valldemaría and La Torderola streams, the implementation of acoustic screens, signposting and beaconing and various landscape restoration and environmental impact corrective works, among which are included the planting of local species on the slopes and cuttings generated by the new layout.
