New prospects for business development in Peru

July 6, 2015

As a result of OHL Concesiones’ work over the last few years, there are now new prospects for business development in Peru, a priority market for company growth in the transport infrastructures sector.

Its commitment to infrastructure development and territorial planning, as part of the program launched by the Peruvian government, has led OHL Concesiones to study and present to the competent public administration two private initiatives to develop or improve two new transport infrastructures.

In the city of Lima, it has launched the La Molina-Angamos Link initiative, declared to be of public interest by the Metropolitan Council of Lima. The project involves an urban toll road 12 km long, covering the main service and business areas of Peru’s capital city. With an investment exceeding 500 million USD, this new infrastructure will almost entirely consist of an overpass, combining tunnels and half-covered and open ditches.

Furthermore, in South Peru, OHL Concesiones has presented a second private and self-sustainable initiative: the Panamericana Sur road concession, Ica-Quilca Section. The Pan-American road is Peru’s most important road axis, covering its various regions and linking the country’s largest cities.

At present, the south section of this communication axis services, along a large part of its route, heavy vehicle traffic through population centers, as well as traffic conditions that require an improvement. The proposal contemplates a toll road approximately 518 km long, with a 400-million USD investment, involving splitting works, third lanes for overtaking vehicles and bypasses in large population centers.
