Five urban sewage treatment plants opened in Albacete, in which OHL participated

November 14, 2018

The sewage treatment plants of Balazote, Barrax, Lezuza, Tiriez and La Yunquera, located in the province of Albacete (Spain), in which OHL participated in a joint venture with Inima, have been inaugurated on November 14th. All of them are framed in the II Master Plan for Sanitation and Sewage Treatment of Castilla-La Mancha.

The projects, awarded by the Water Agency of Castilla-La Mancha through its public agency Infraestructuras del Agua of Castilla-La Mancha, add an average design daily flow of 3,188 m3 to benefit a total of 12,751 equivalent inhabitants. Also, thanks to its characteristics, the five purification stations will result in environmental and economic development of the surrounding populations, revitalizing the Júcar river bed and its diverse flora and fauna.

These stations are added to other projects of this nature undertaken by OHL. The most recent is the WWTP of Lagares, in Vigo, inaugurated last April and which has become the largest capacity treatment plant in Galicia, by admitting flows of up to 12 m3 per second and having a treatment potential in terms of pollution of up to 800,000 equivalent inhabitants.
