A building renovated by OHL receives two best integrated rehabilitation awards
July 3, 2017
The building located at 10 Eloy Gonzalo Street in Madrid, whose façade has been renovated by OHL with LEED Gold certification (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design), has received two best building rehabilitation awards. The architectural project and construction management has been carried out by luis vidal + arquitectos.
OHL has renovated the façade of the building at 10 Eloy Gonzalo Street, which consists of six floors to be used exclusively as office space, a ground floor for commercial premises and three basement floors for parking. The project succeeded in radically transforming the appearance of the building by acting on the façade and at the same time improving the thermal and acoustical impacts of the surrounding environment. The new façade was executed by means of metal plates on the extensions of the floor structures, finished with rainbow-effect paint, and with floor-to ceiling panes of glass on each floor.
This project received the award to the “Best Integrated Building Rehabilitation” among the ASPRIMA-SIMA 2017 awards, in the competition organized yearly by ASPRIMA (Asociación de Promotores Inmobiliarios de Madrid – Madrid Real Estate Developers Association) and Planner Exhibitions. This award is a reference in the sector.
The jury valued the fact that the functionality of the floors had been enhanced and the choice of an open-façade concept that has succeeded in radically changing the external appearance of the building, taking maximum advantage of the natural light and reducing the acoustical impact at the same time. In addition, another factor leading to the award was the building’s LEED Gold certification.
The building has also been singled out by the “2016 Best Rehabilitation” award, granted by the Asociación Española de Oficinas (AEO – Spanish Office Association), an entity that brings together professionals, companies and institutions connected with the management of corporate real estate assets and all aspects relating to offices and work centers in Spain.
