OHL wins two new contracts in Illinois amounting to 33 million euros

OHL has been awarded two new projects in Chicago, Illinois (USA), through its subsidiary Judlau, with a joint value of 33 million euros (US$ 36.7 million). 

The first contract is valued at 17.5 million euros (US$ 19.4 million), and was awarded by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). The works include constructing a ramp from Interstate I-290 on the Eisenhower Expressway, to outbound I-90/94 on the Dan Ryan Expressway. Containment walls will be built and the ramps will be expanded to improve traffic circulation in the area. 

The second contract was awarded by the Metropolitan Rail Corporation (METRA), the Commuter Rail Division of the Regional Transportation Authority serving Chicago and its metropolitan area. It is valued at 15.4 million euros (US$ 17.2 million) and includes the removal, replacement and rehabilitation of eleven railroad bridges in downtown Chicago. 

OHL has been working in Illinois since 2014, when it was awarded the Elgin-O’Hare Tollway (IL-390) interchange project in Chicago valued at 49.2 million euros (US$ 64 million). Recently, it was awarded the new the O’Hare International Airport contract, granted by the Chicago Department of Aviation and valued at 43 million euros (US$ 45.7 million).
