OHL wins a contract in the O’Hare International Airport of Chicago for 43 million euros

The OHL Group, through its subsidiary Judlau Contracting, Inc. has been awarded a contract in the O’Hare International Airport of Chicago (USA) for over 43 million euros approximately. The project has been granted by City of Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) to perform mass grading work for the new central deicing facility of the airport. With this contract, OHL Group strengthens its presence in Illinois where is present from 2014 through the award of the Elgin-O’Hare (IL-390) expressway interchange project.
Work will be executed in two parts and includes extensive mass grading, excavation, lime modification to strengthen the embankment, debris removal, backfilling, and sorting and stockpiling materials. The project includes moving more than 2.2 million cubic yards of excavation over a seven month period to create the base for the airport’s central deicing facility.
OHL entered in Illinois market in 2014 through the award of the Elgin-O’Hare (IL-390) expressway interchange project. This contract was awarded by the public agency Illinois State Toll Highway Authority (Illinois Tollway), involving the construction, in Chicago, of an interchange station to connect I-290 and Illinois Route 39, as part of the Elgin O’Hare Western Access (EOWA) project. The contract is covered by the state program Move Illinois: The Illinois Tollway Driving the Future, started up in 2012, which has estimated a 12,000 million USD investment over 15 years in transport infrastructure.
