OHL participates in a round table on circular economy at the University of Alcalá

OHL has participated in the round table “Circular economy and its urban dimension” as part of the summer course The challenge of a circular economy: an opportunity for CSR organized by the University of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid). Andrés Rodriguez, a member of the corporate Sustainability area, participated in representation of OHL.
During his intervention he presented the report “Closing the circle. The business case of a Circular Economy” prepared by the Forética Circular Economy Action Group, of which OHL is a member. This document includes a roadmap to integrate circular economy in the business strategy. He also reflected on the role that private companies play in the transition towards a circular economy, as well as the challenges and opportunities that this new focus poses for companies in the construction sector in urban settings using as a reference the case of OHL and its experience in sustainable construction, where it has 26 LEED certifications in various projects executed at a global level.
OHL is a member of the Pact for a Circular Economy, promoted by the Spainsh Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment. In addition, it is a member of the Circular Economy Business Action Group, promoted by Forética and of the Spanish Group for Green Growth, to inform society in general and all the interest groups of the potential of this model of economic growth for Spain.
