OHL obtains an outstanding score in all of the CDP environmental areas
January 17, 2017
The OHL Group has achieved a high score in the environmental areas of climate change, water and forests promoted by CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project), through a range of reporting programs that assess the environmental performance and management of companies in terms of disclosure, awareness, management and leadership, on a scale from “D-” to “A”, classifying as “F” those companies failing to provide sufficient information.
In the last edition (2016), OHL placed in an outstanding position in all of the CDP areas, obtaining the top score “A” in the CDP Climate Change program, with respect to climate change aspects, as well as “A-” in the CDP Water and CDP Forests programs, referring to the scarcity of water and deforestation, respectively. Another significant point to mention is the presence of OHL on the CDP Climate A List, made up by only 9% of the top-scoring companies in the world –an added recognition in the climate change context.
According to the criteria established by CDP, the companies obtaining the highest scores have demonstrated a profound knowledge of the risks and critical opportunities in environmental terms, as well as the definition and application of strategies for their management. With this result, OHL is positioned as a reference for its commitment to a low carbon economy and to the protection of natural resources.
CDP is a non-profit organization that has become an international benchmark, providing the only global system for the dissemination of environmental information that enables companies to make financial decisions, manage risks and take advantage of opportunities against this background. It is supported by a network of 827 investors, who represent more than 100 billon dollars in assets, and by legislators from all parts of the world.
