MLO awarded by the Regional Transit Consortium for its educational project on Sustainable Mobility
January 17, 2014
The Regional Transit Consortium of Madrid has recognized Metro Ligero Oeste (MLO) at the second Mass Transit and Sustainable Mobility Awards Ceremony (II Premios a la Promoción del Transporte Público y la Movilidad Sostenible) for its CSR educational project on Sustainable Mobility.
This initiative began in 2007 in partnership with the Pozuelo de Alarcón Town Hall’s Environmental Education Classroom for schools and special education centers in the towns of Pozuelo de Alarcón and Boadilla del Monte with a view to promoting a culture of sustainability by reaching out to schoolchildren in their areas of activity.
During an event held on 14 January at the College of Civil Engineering, the Chief Executive Officer of OHL Concessions and Chairman of the Board of Directors of MLO, Juan Osuna, received this award from the managing director of the Regional Transit Consortium of Madrid, Jesús Valverde Bocanegra, in the presence of the Minister of Transportation, Infrastructures and Housing, Pablo Cavero.
Our company views this award as an incentive to continue working on education, as it recognizes the efforts and vision of a number of dedicated individuals to make this all possible.
The Mass Transit and Sustainable Mobility Awards were created to recognize activities rendered in support of mass transit and sustainable mobility carried out by individuals, companies and institutions within the Madrid region.
