November 27, 2017
The OHL Group has been awarded in the “CDP Europe Awards 2017”, for its inclusion with the highest rating in the CDP Climate 2017 and CDP Water 2017 Indexes, for its work on climate change and sustainable water management. This way, OHL becomes one of the only 27 companies that have obtained this double rating from over 3,000 analyzed this year around the world. The event took place on November 21st in Brussels (Belgium) and the awards were accepted by Sonia Moreno, head of the Corporate Quality and Environmental Service.
This year, the OHL Group obtained the highest rating, “A”, as a leader in the CDP Climate Change 2017 and renews its presence in the Climate A List, a list made up of only 9% of the companies with the highest scores in the world. In addition, the company joins the A List Water for the first time, in which the leading companies in the field of water resources management are present. With this result, OHL remains a benchmark company for its commitment to a low carbon economy.
This has been possible thanks to business strategies such as investment in clean energy facilities, renewable energy projects, the commitment to sustainable construction and LEED certificates, the development of resilient and SMART transport systems, as well as energy efficient services.
In terms of water, the risk assessment derived from water scarcity and its management plans, as well as the projects developed to improve the water supply, quality and distribution, and to seek the adaptation of water supplies of infrastructures to climate change, the most relevant of which have been recognized with the highest rating in the Water program.
