OHL, together with the rest of the members of its consortium, appeals the ruling on the Son Espases Hospital call for tenders
September 29, 2014
In relation to the call for tenders and the award of the contract for the concession of the Son Espases Hospital in Palma de Mallorca, OHL reports that the consortium it joined in order to participate in that call for tenders has filed an appeal before the High Court of Justice of the Balearic Islands, within the legal time limit, against the judgment handed down recently in the first instance by Administrative Court No. 1 of Palma de Mallorca.
OHL, in a consortium with three other companies, took part in the call for tenders for the construction and operation for a period of 25 years of the Son Espases Hospital in Palma de Mallorca.
OHL was not awarded the contract in that call for tenders, however, on considering that there were irregularities in the evaluation and award of the contract, it decided, together with the rest of the members of the consortium, to file an administrative appeal against the award made in the aforementioned call for tenders.
With the fresh appeal to the High Court of Justice of the Balearic Islands, OHL demonstrates its determination to cooperate with the Justice system in order to clarify the facts concerned in its claim.
In addition, OHL wishes to make clear that in 2006, the year in which the Son Espases Hospital was awarded, it received no awards whatsoever from the Balearic Islands government and that, during the 2003-2007 legislature, it only obtained two awards from that government involving a very insignificant amount, equivalent to 0.6% of all of the works contracted by that Community.
