April 25, 2017
OHL has presented its Report on volunteer work and awareness for integration on the job market, issued in conjunction with the Randstad Foundation. The presentation was held on 21 April as part of celebrations of the VII edition of Give & Gain, during the International Week on Corporate Volunteer Work, arranged by Forética, a leading association of enterprises and professionals in Corporate Social Responsibility matters in Spain and Latin America. María Ruspoli, the head of the Social Action, Sponsorship and Patronage Service, attended on behalf of OHL.
This Report is the outcome of a survey, conducted in late 2016 on 600 Spanish enterprises in various economic sectors, and aims to provide a view on their awareness actions, targeted at integrating the handicapped and persons at a risk of exclusion.
The document, arising further to celebrations of the tenth anniversary of Volunteers OHL, intends to report on the Group’s experience, as well as other companies’ good practices in this field, in order to encourage the inclusion of diversity and, ultimately, to create social value.
In María Ruspoli’s words, “this report intends to enhance volunteer work as a tool for the social and employment inclusion of underprivileged groups”.
The attendants included the general manager of Family & Child Matters, Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality, María del Pilar Gonzálvez, and the general manager of Forética, Germán Granda.
Tenth anniversary of Volunteers OHL
The OHL is celebrating 10 years of the Volunteers OHL program, an initiative that has involved 6,500 volunteer employees over this period of time, promoting 150 actions to the benefit of over 20,000 people.
Corporate volunteer work constitutes one of the priority lines in OHL Group’s social action plan and aims to create room for dialog and cooperation between the employees and society, through which OHL volunteers offer their talent and skills to the local community whilst also satisfying their social concerns and, ultimately, their personal growth.
At present, there are active groups in Spain and Mexico and, furthermore, corporate volunteer activities are specifically carried out in the U.S., Canada, Chile, Peru and Colombia.
