The OHL Group, strengthened its commitment to entry into the Paraguayan market

Josep Piqué, CEO and Vice-Chairman of the OHL Group, held a meeting with Horacio Cartes, President of Paraguay, at the Government Palace in Asunción, on 19 October. During the meeting, which was also attended by Gustavo Leite, Minister of Industry and Trade, amongst other personalities, Josep Piqué highlighted Paraguay’s commitment to transport infrastructures and referred to the current national rules governing investment projects. 

The CEO made a presentation of the activities of the OHL Group, which has been present in Latin America for over 50 years, and highlighted that the concessions and construction group is operating in more than 30 countries in the 5 continents. In relation to Paraguay, he indicated that OHL intends to consolidate its presence in the country. “We believe that Paraguay is extremely attractive for a company like ours. We have been actively working for two years, preparing and analyzing projects. What we want is for them to materialize as soon as possible”. 

As regards the Group’s positioning abroad, Josep Piqué pointed out that “we like to operate in countries where we are permanently present through local enterprises, which provide great added value”.
