OHL Servicios, the Group’s division specialized in services for people and infrastructures, has ended the year with awards worth more than 140 million euros in Spain through its head subsidiary, OHL Servicios-Ingesan, while at the same time it has commenced its international expansion with new contracts in Chile and is exploring other markets such as Mexico and the U.S.
In Spain, an award was signed for the refuse collection service in several Madrid districts –Salamanca, Retiro, Chamartín, Moratalaz, Ciudad Lineal, Hortaleza, Vicálvaro, San Blas, Canillejas and Barajas– at a price of close to 40 million euros.
In addition, the company has been awarded new contracts for the maintenance and upkeep of park areas and street furniture and for street cleaning in Albacete, Boadilla del Monte, Fuenlabrada (Madrid), Alcorcón (Madrid), Parets del Vallés (Barcelona), Marbella (Malaga) and the Palma de Mallorca Airport and has commenced performance of the Energy Management contract for the La Princesa University Hospital in Madrid, a public hospital located in the heart of the city dating back more to than 160 years.
The Services division also demonstrates its commitment to society through the 600 employment contracts signed with workers from groups at risk of social exclusion during the last 10 years. Precisely for this decade-long commitment, OHL Servicios-Ingesan obtained the recognition of Fundación Integra in July 2016. The company offers individualized and collective care solutions for people to improve their quality of life and the integration of the most sensitive groups in our society: seniors, children and people at risk of social exclusion.
The company’s respect for and protection of the environment, another of the marks of identity of OHL Servicios-Ingesan, has been acknowledged by the approval of its registration in the EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) Register.
Fundación Bancaria la Caixa has also singled out OHL Servicios-Ingesan with the Incorpora Award in the medium-sized company category for its contribution to the labor market integration of people with disabilities or at risk of social exclusion. Moreover, the company received the Stela Award 2016, given in August by the Madrid Down Syndrome Foundation.
‘The recognitions accumulated during the year fill us with pride, because they reflect our firm social commitment to the most disadvantaged groups. OHL Servicios-Ingesan pursues efficient and innovative management guided by operating excellence, striving not to leave anyone behind’, according to José Antonio de Cachavera, General Manager of the division. ‘Ours is a dual commitment: to provide the best service and to offer opportunities to those who have the fewest. In 2017 we will continue to work in this direction’.
