OHL Volunteers will accompany young people from Down Madrid on the Pilgrim Route to Santiago

For the eighth consecutive year, OHL Volunteers will accompany a group of pilgrims, mostly composed of persons with Down Syndrome, on the last two stages of the Pilgrim Route to Santiago (Pedrouzo-Lavacolla and Lavacolla-Santiago de Compostela), from the 12th to the 15th of July. Volunteers OHL participates in this initiative promoted by Down Madrid, in collaboration with Fundación Adecco.
A group of young people with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities will undertake their pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela (province of A Coruña) with their monitors over more than 100 km. OHL Volunteers will accompany them in the last two stages of the Route (Pedrouzo-Lavacolla y Lavacolla-Santiago de Compostela) up to their arrival at the Cathedral on July 14th and they will participate with them and their families in various activities.
This integration initiative combines leisure, sports and culture, three fundamental pillars for personal development and growth, improves the quality of life and social integration of the persons with Down Syndrome or other intellectual disability.
OHL Volunteers celebrated its tenth anniversary last year. In this time period close to 6,500 employees in collaboration with 150 entities have promoted over 150 initiatives which have benefitted over 20,000 persons in Spain, Mexico, USA, Canada, Chile, Peru and Colombia, among others.
OHL Volunteers participe in this initiative promoved by Down Madrid, in collaboration with Adecco Foundation.
