OHL, among the top 100 companies in carbon footprint and water footprint management

February 9, 2018

OHL is positioned among the top 100 companies worldwide in the management of the carbon footprint and the water footprint, after being included, for the first time, on the Supplier Water A List and renewing its presence on the Supplier Climate A List, qualifying us as reference contractors in these areas.

These credentials, granted by CDP, are additional to those already achieved by the company recently. OHL obtained the maximum “A” score with leadership status in CDP Climate Change 2017 and, in this way, renews its presence on the Climate A List, made up by only 9% of the top-scoring companies in the world. Likewise, the company has been included for the first time on the Water A List, where the leading companies in terms of water resources management are present.

OHL has been reporting voluntarily and publicly to CDP since 2009, achieving outstanding positions in the various rankings published each year by this organization. Accordingly, the Group belongs to the Climate Change and Water programs, which assess disclosure, awareness, management and leadership in climate change and water footprint management, respectively, on a scale increasing from F up to A, in addition to participation in the CDP Supply Chain program since 2011 and the CDP Forests program (referring to deforestation) since 2015, in which it also maintains a position of leadership.

CDP is a non-profit organization that has become an international benchmark, with 827 investor signatories, who represent more than 100 billon dollars in assets. It provides the largest corporate environment information base in the world in terms of climate change and the protection of natural resources. CDP accords leadership recognition to those companies that have demonstrated a profound knowledge of the risks and critical opportunities relating to climate change, as well as the definition and application of strategies for their management.
