April 18, 2017
The Mayakoba tourist complex, promoted by OHL Desarrollos in Riviera Maya, has inaugurated Hotel Andaz Mayakoba, the brand’s first hotel in Mexico and one of the first in Latin America. The project has been launched by Andaz, a recently created hotel chain, constituting the second luxury brand of the Hyatt chain and the most prestigious brand in the luxury lifestyle segment.
The new Hotel Andaz Mayakoba covers 9.6 km of fresh water canals, surrounded by swamps, flora and fauna. The hotel has 214 rooms, including 41 luxury suites and facilities that offer, amongst other services, a 3,000 square meter spa, four restaurants, three outdoor swimming pools, an events and meeting room, and a beach club.
This project has been designed by the Costa Rican architect Ronald Zurcher, who is known for creating natural surroundings with cultural and architectural feeling, drawing inspiration from abundant natural components and highlighting structures to create a harmonious co-existence between architecture and nature.
This hotel is an addition to the three located in the Mayakoba tourist complex: Rosewood, Fairmont and Banyan Tree. At present, the Fairmont Heritage Place and Ciudad Mayakoba are at a development stage, representing the first planned and quality urban real estate development in Riviera Maya.
OHL Desarrollos is promoting the Mayakoba Complex in Riviera Maya, a luxury tourist resort that entails support from the local communities and environmental friendliness. It also has the El Camaleón golf course, where the prestigious PGA Tour, OHL Classic at Mayakoba, is held.
