TMS achieves an extension of its concession term
July 3, 2015
Terminales Marítimas del Sureste (TMS) has received approval from the Alicante Port Authority to its request to extend the concession term, and expects to carry out new operations, for a total of 15 million euros, in order to increase the scope of its activity and update the port’s operativity.
The concession term has been extended for a period of 12 years, until July 2047. The investments foreseen include the commissioning of Dock 19, extending the railway terminal within the concession perimeter, and implanting the Terminal Operating System (TOS).
TMS is currently operating docks 21, 23 and 25, hosting the passenger, container and bulk terminals. Availability of dock 19, with a mooring line more than 360 m long, 14 m deep and measuring 65,000 m² will enable the port zone to be extended in order to implement and develop loading and downloading activities in any maritime transport sector.
Furthermore, all the investments involved in extending the current railway terminal will enable the operation of trains up to 750 m long. In turn, implementation of the TOS operating management system will increase the efficiency of the productive process.
