Ingesan secures SA8000 certification in CSR
September 2, 2013
Ingesan, a member of the OHL Group’s Services Division specializing in cleaning, technical maintenance and healthcare, has obtained the Social Accountability System Certificate according to standard SA8000, based on the “international human rights norms and national labor laws that safeguard and empower all personnel within a company’s scope of control or influence”.
The SA8000 certification, granted by Det Norske Veritas, is a tool for integrating the management of socially responsible practices for the global management of a company based on: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Conventions and Recommendations of the International Labour Organization (ILO) and others.
Ingesan’s SA8000-certified Social Accountability International system has been designed to meet the requirements of this standard and involves the facilities, departments, company employees, subcontracted collaborators and the organization and execution of the services that it furnishes.
Some of the prominent guidelines contemplated in the CSR System of this OHL Group subsidiary include those aiming to eliminate practices that engender “threatening, coercive, abusive and lascivious conduct or exploitation in the workplace or wherever applicable for undertaking tasks by workers in the facilities offered by the organization”.
