OHL awarded for safety in construction work on the Bialystok Soccer Stadium and the double tunnel under the Vistula river in Poland

The OHL Group division OHL Construction has been acclaimed for its commitment to occupational risk prevention during the construction work on the twin tunnel in Gdansk and the Bialystok soccer stadium in Poland. This recognition came in the form of various awards conferred by the Polish Labor Inspection Authority and the Fire Marshal’s Bureau of the Gdansk City Fire Department commending OHL Construction’s efforts in the field of health and safety.
The construction of the twin tunnel underneath the mouth of the Vistula river at the Baltic Sea has been the recipient of numerous recognitions. The Fire Marshal’s Bureau of the Gdansk City Fire Department issued a certificate in recognition of the construction work’s “sound firefighting, evacuation and rescue procedures” after holding an evacuation drill that served to reaffirm the elevated level of safety at which OHL Construction executed the work.
In addition to this honor, the first prize was awarded to the work on the link between Gdansk Airport and the Port of Gdansk – Trasa Slowackiego. Task IV among the Safe Construction awards conferred by the Polish Labor Inspection Authority. Among Poland’s most prestigious awards for occupational health and safety, it contemplates yet is not restricted to aspects regarding healthcare, consignment of personal protective equipment to safeguard workers and maintenance of work roads, fences and other facilities at the twin tunnel construction site in Gdansk.
In addition, OHL was further commended this past 25 October by vaulting to the highest honor in the Safe Construction competition organized by the Polish Labor Inspection Authority, which also recognized the elevated level of safety present during the construction of the soccer stadium in the city of Bialystok. Raúl Herrero Ruiz, manager of the construction project, received the award from Marek Aleksiejuk, regional labor inspector, during the awards ceremony attended by government officials and members of the Labor Safety Commission for the construction sector.
