OHLA has been awarded in joint venture the last section of the Mediterranean High Speed Corridor between Murcia and Almeria with the integration of the railroad in Lorca and the execution of the platform, with a length of 3.2 kilometers, most of it in a false tunnel and the new underground train station for an amount of more than €270 million.

The awarded section connects at the beginning with Totana-Lorca and at the end with the subsequent Lorca-Pulpí section.

The works are located on the route of the current platform of the line between Murcia Mercancías and Águilas and include two main actions. The first is the burial of the current platform, with a length of 3.2 km, most of it in a cut-and-cover tunnel, which will allow the passage under the River Guadalentín and the wadis of Las Chatas and La Señorita.

The second action focuses on the new Lorca Sutullena station. Specifically, the current passenger building will be extended to allow access to the underground tracks, and a new underground station will be built, including the two general tracks plus a siding and three platforms.

Among these are the works between Calahorra de Boedo-Alar del Rey (Palencia). This is the fifth section of the Palencia-Santander High-Speed Line (LAV), which will be 78.4 km long. These works are in addition to the construction of the new passenger station in Irún.

It is also making progress in the construction of the platform of the Arroyo de Santa María-Navalmoral de la Mata section, belonging to the Madrid-Extremadura-Portuguese Border High Speed Railway; the construction of the Villafranca-Peralta section of the Zaragoza-Pamplona High Speed Railway; the construction of the Mondragón-Elorrio-Bergara section, within the Vitoria-Bilbao-San Sebastián High Speed Railway; and the construction project for the integral improvement of the Guadalmez-Córdoba section of the Madrid-Seville High Speed Railway.
