Centro Canalejas Madrid (CCM) has won the award for Best Public Works at the 13th edition of the Caminos Awards, which are awarded every year by the Madrid Civil Engineering Association. The restoration works carried out on the lake wall in the Casa de Campo, in the same city, have also been recognized this year with the award for Best Public Service Action.

José Antonio Fernández Gallar, OHL’s CEO, was in charge of collecting the award for the CCM, accompanied by Jesús Montero Mingo, OHL’s Spain-Europe Area Director; Sergio López Manrique, Centro Canalejas Madrid Site Manager and Ana Guasp, also Project Manager and member of the Lamela architecture firm team. In his words of thanks, OHL’s CEO highlighted the more than 600 million invested and the work of more than 5,000 people in the largest urban regeneration project in Spain, in which nearly 400 SMEs have also participated.

In addition, the Casa de Campo lake restoration project has won an award in the category of Best Public Service Action. It should be noted that this infrastructure is listed as Heritage of Cultural Interest in the category of Historic Site. The award was collected by Francisco Navarrete Molina, OHL’s Central-North Area Regional Director, and Beatriz García San Gabino, representing the Project Management of the Directorate General for Water Management and Green Zones of the Madrid City Council.

The awards ceremony was attended, among other personalities, by the President of Civil Engineering Association, Lola Ortiz; the Secretary of State for Transportation, Mobility and the Urban Agenda, Pedro Saura; the Madrid City Council’s Urban Development Delegate, Mariano Fuentes, and the SEOPAN’s President, Julián Núñez.

The ceremony was held in solidarity with and for the benefit of the Mensajeros de la Paz Association, through a financial donation that will enable people with limited resources to access public transportation in Madrid.
