Civil enginering week 2011. Engineering brought closer to Madrid’s citizens

The Region of Madrid will hold Civil Engineering Week from 7 to 13 March. It is a new initiative in Spain that will bring the work of engineers closer to society and their contribution to the development of the cities.

Significant professionals from the sector will be present at the new event. Civil Engineering week will also bring civil works closer to Madrid’s citizens through a large circuit of guided tours. Over twenty projects under construction and of historical value to the Community of Madrid will be shown free of charge.

The exhibition “The public works that have changed our lives” will show a selection of the most representative civil works in the history of the Community of Madrid that have improved the quality of life of its citizens. The display will be located in the Nuevos Ministerios Sala de Exposiciones Aulario.

A program of cultural acts and conferences will also be arranged in various public areas such as the Prado Museum, the San Fernando Fine Arts Academy, the American House, the Cirlce of Fine Arts, the Museum of the City and Parliament, among others.
