Inauguration of the pedestrian and bicycle crossing at Padre Claret in Valladolid, built by OHLA

August 14, 2024

OHLA reinforces its commitment to the development of sustainable infrastructure with a positive impact on people with the inauguration, in Valladolid (Spain), of the pedestrian and bicycle crossing between Estación and Guipúzcoa streets, which joins Padre Claret and Andalucía streets, at KP 249+300 of the Madrid- Chamartín- Bif. Venta de Baños High Speed Line.

The project, awarded by Valladolid Alta Velocidad 2003 S.A., links two districts of the city separated by the train tracks. The crossing under the railroad tracks has been executed by means of a 22 m long, 9 m wide and 3 m gauge concrete caisson that has allowed the uninterrupted operation of the railway traffic. The pedestrian and bicycle accesses to the tunnel have been provided by means of stairs and ramps.

Benefits for the population

This action enables the access that directly connects several key points of the city: Las Delicias Market, CEIP San Fernando and Plaza Circular.  In addition, the new crosswalk will allow movement towards the city center for the nearly 30,000 residents of the Delicias neighborhood.
