Josep Piqué will lead the EOI leadership and public management program

November 17, 2015

Josep Piqué, CEO and Vice-Chairman of OHL, will direct the Program in Leadership and Advanced Public Management in Local and Autonomous Administrations, recently launched by EOI Spain´s School of Industrial Organisation. Founded in 1955, EOI is Spain’s senior business school and one of the oldest in Europe. Ascribed to the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, more than 70,000 students have been educated over its 60-year history.

The program was presented at EOI’s premises in Madrid by the dean, José Ramón Álvarez, the president of the PWC Foundation, Jesús Díaz de la Hoz, which is participating in the initiative, and Josep Piqué, whose professional career constitutes a reference in both sectors.

During his speech, OHL’s CEO highlighted the need to have efficient and innovating public managers, contributing to a “positive change” with an “open and global” approach. He also pointed out the need to strengthen bonds between the public and private sectors, between “the Administration and enterprises”, in order to promote country competitiveness. As an example, he referred to the public-private projects (PPP) carried out in the field of transport infrastructures which, in the currently restrictive economic scenario, are used to launch projects to the benefit of citizens.

Talent

More than 1,800 enterprises trust EOI’s Alumni when seeking to recruit talent. More than 80,000 hours are taught each year in business management leadership, to an average of 4,300 students, with a staff of more than 1,200 teachers.
