He also stated that, “That growth has a lot to do with the determined boost given by the nation’s successive governments to transport infrastructures.” The President of the Group reminded the audience that infrastructures “are fundamental for the acceleration and growth of an economy and for the well-being of a society”. He added that “Chile has given a significant boost to its infrastructures in the last 20 years, a boost in which Spanish companies working in that great nation have had an important role.”

The President of the Group reminded the audience that in December 2007, he had opened that forum whose goal was to “Complete the School’s technical training with other economic and business material related to our profession”.

The Engineer as a Businessperson” he pointed out that in a context of an economic crisis such as the current one, “the spirit and initiative of entrepreneurs is fundamental to return to the path of growth and direct the future of Spain towards that of a country with a dynamic and competitive economy”.

During his speech, Juan-Miguel Villar Mir mentioned several examples of great businesspeople who have come from the Madrid School of Roads and recommended the audience not to miss the chance to become businesspeople “because it is in that role where you can most serve society”.
