Metro Ligero Oeste celebrates its II Drawing Competition with the participation of “Dibujantes del Transporte de Madrid”

May 31, 2016

Last 28 May, Metro Ligero Oeste arranged its II Drawing Event, in which approximately 15 artists participated belonging to Grupo de Dibujantes del Transporte de Madrid. The event was backed up by Consorcio de Transportes de Madrid and was arranged and attended by José Sanmartín, known as the “Urban Artist”.

During part one of the drawing event, held inside one of the MLO vehicles along the MLE3 line, between the stations of Colonia Jardín and Puerta de Boadilla, the artists depicted daily scenes in traveling passengers, derived from the advantages of using public transport: reading, working, keeping up with social networks, studying, enjoying the scenery… or drawing, even, as on this occasion.

On the outside, as part two of the event, the artists stopped off on the way back in Ciudad del Cine, servicing the Kinépolis leisure center, where they were able to recreate the surroundings and unique space of which Metro Ligero Oeste is a part.

The event ended in the hall of the Colonia Jardín station, where all the drawings completed in the morning were shared.

A selection of this graphic material, along with the drawings generated during the I Drawing Event of Metro Ligero Oeste, held last 27 February in MLO’s workshops, will be used to arrange an exhibition in September, during the European Mobility Week, held in Colonia Jardín station.
