OHL, awarded by Down Madrid as a Committed Company

The OHL Group has been awarded as a Committed Company by the Down Syndrome Foundation of Madrid (Down Madrid) for its work in favor of integrating Down’s Syndrome people and, in particular, for its participation through OHL Volunteers in the 2015 Way of St. James. Making your own way.

María Ruspoli, manager of the Social Action, Patronage and Sponsorship Service of the OHL Group, collected the prize from the hands of Inés Álvarez, president of the Down Madrid board. The ceremony was one of the events of the IX edition of the Down Madrid Solidarity Dinner, which each year recognizes the commitment of family relatives benefiting from Down Madrid’s various programs, including volunteers and collaborators.

Since 2010, OHL Volunteers accompanies the participants of the Way of St. James. Making your own way in the two stages preceding the end of the walk at Santiago de Compostela. With these two days of retreat, the self-sufficiency of Down’s Syndrome people and other disabled persons is encouraged, highlighting the importance of working as a team.

The OHL Group articulates its action principles in social matters through the 2012-2015 Framework Social Action Plan, coordinated by the General Corporate Management through the Social Action, Sponsorship and Patronage Service. OHL, which collaborates with Down Madrid since 2005, was awarded the 2015 Stela Prize last March for its commitment in favor of the inclusion on the job market of people with Down’s Syndrome and other intellectually disabled persons.
