OHL Group, through its subsidiary Judlau Contracting, Inc., has been awarded three new projects that will break ground in 2018, valued at 56 million ($69 million). These projects will help improve safety and enhance travel in the greater Chicago area.

The company was awarded a 39 million euro ($47.9 million) contract by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) to execute the interchange improvements along Interstate 55 (I-55) at Weber Road in Romeoville, IL. The project consists of roadway widening, reconstruction, and resurfacing of Weber Road and it includes two independent bridge structures.

The second project, the Fox River Pedestrian Bridge, valued at 11.4 million euros ($14 million), includes the construction of a new 930-foot pedestrian bridge over the Fox River that will connect the east and west sides of the river and improve access to the Aurora Transportation Center in Aurora, IL.  OHL will construct the new bridge, make improvements to the west side parking lot, enhance the intersection of Illinois Route 25 and reconfigure multi-model access to accommodate pedestrians, bicyclists, and vehicular traffic flow.

OHL was also awarded a 5.6 million-euro ($7 million) contract to build a retaining wall for the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority. The project is part of the Elgin O’Hare Western Access project to expand access to O’Hare International, one the nation’s busiest airports.
