OHL awarded several building projects worth more than 70 million in Barcelona

OHL has achieved several building projects for an amount exceeding 70 million euro in Barcelona. This is the execution of the facilities within the framework of the project to expand and reform the hospital in Viladecans, at the request of the Generalitat de Catalunya; and the construction of several buildings for administrative and hotel use, in the 22@ Innovation district and carried out by private initiative.

In the municipality of Viladecans, OHL carries out works within the framework of the project to reform and expand the city hospital. Specifically, the company will carry out the installation of a new building and the reform of existing facilities.

In what is known as the 22@ Innovation District in Barcelona, OHL has been awarded the construction of the TANGER36 office building owned by Esecetanger S.L., located in the “eix Tanger” right at the confluence of Tánger and Àlaba streets, of 11,583m2 built area, distributed on a ground floor plus seven above ground and two underground floors for parking. The BIM methodology will be used for its development and will be carried out under sustainability criteria, incorporating monitoring systems, energy management, as well as constructive formulas in order to achieve savings in water consumption, with the Leed Gold certification, a prestigious distinction of international scope granted by the US Green Building Council, an organization that promotes sustainability in the design, construction and operation of buildings.

In the same district, the company is building the Hexagon Glòries, an office building with 14,700 m2 surface area distributed in ten floors and two below ground. The property incorporates monitoring and energy management systems, as well as measures that result in saving water consumption, in order to achieve the Leed Gold certification.

These two initiatives are in addition to the Llacuna Project, in the same district of the city of Barcelona. This project calls for the construction of a 19,800 m2 complex distributed in a hotel equipped with 313 rooms and in an office building with a below ground parking garage with capacity for 147 parking spaces and area of free spaces for private use. It is anticipated that this building will also achieve Leed certification.
