June 5, 2017
Coinciding with the celebration of World Environment Day on the 5th of June, OHL Volunteers, in conjunction with OHL Servicios-Ingesan and Fundación Adecco, have organized Corporate Volunteering Day for Equal Opportunities, with the aim of furthering the full social integration of disadvantaged groups, in a context of respect and care for our natural environment and biodiversity.
More than one hundred people, between employees of OHL Servicios-Ingesan and groups at risk of or already in a situation of social vulnerability, beneficiaries of the programs organized by Grupo 5, were able to enjoy this initiative, which took place this past Saturday June 3rd in the Boadilla del Monte (Madrid) Environmental Facility.
José Antonio de Cachavera, General Manager of OHL Servicios and one of the participants in the Corporate Volunteering Day for Equal Opportunities, stressed the need for “promoting values such as integration, equality and solidarity”. In addition, María Teresa Ruiz, Director of Grupo 5’s day care and occupational rehabilitation center, emphasized that “thanks to activities such as this, the road to integration becomes a reality”.
The event, designed to raise awareness about the importance for people with different abilities or in a situation of social vulnerability to be able to enjoy equal opportunities through the fostering of employability, included a number of activities such as the creation of vertical vegetable gardens, a recycling gymkhana and the setting-up of workshop for the production of natural cosmetics.
