OHL Concesiones has been pre-classified in the USA to develop the LAX Automated People Mover

The LAX Connecting Alliance consortium, to which OHL Concesiones belongs, has been pre-classified to develop a project to modernize access by land to Los Angeles International Airport, California: the LAX Automated People Mover.

The project, launched by Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), will be used to modernize access by land to the airport premises of this huge city in California.

With a total investment of 2,250 million euros, it covers the design, construction, financing, operation & maintenance of an automated system for passenger transport.

The system has the following basic components:

  • An overpass, approximately 3.6 kilometers long, and 6 stations.
  • Capacity to move 5,600 travelers/hour in each direction, with a train frequency of two minutes.
  • Mobile walkways to access terminals and parking lots.

Yesterday, LAWA announced the outcome of the pre-classification process, which evaluated the financial proposal (20%), operation & maintenance (20%), consortium qualifications for design and construction (20%), the project’s approach (30%) and its ability to incorporate and integrate local residents and enterprises (10%).
