OHL congratulates Mireia Belmonte on her Olympic gold medal
August 10, 2016
OHL has congratulated Mireia Belmonte on the gold medal she won on August 9th in the 200 meter butterfly at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, becoming the first Spanish swimmer who wins an Olympic gold medal. Sports and the values associated with them represent one of the lines of action of the OHL Group in the scope of sponsorship and patronage. An outcome of that commitment is the collaboration agreement between the Group and the Olympic swimmer, Mireia Belmonte.
Belmonte confirmed her status as Spain’s best woman swimmer of all time, after adding the gold and bronze won in Rio de Janeiro to the two silver medals (200m butterfly and 800m freestyle) obtained in the 2012 London Games.
With this award, Mireia Belmonte has achieved more of 40 medals in major international competitions, after taking her place on the medal stands in the Olympic, World and European Games, in events in both long-course as well as short-course pools.
A magnificent record that she will have the chance to expand in the coming competition (800m freestyle), in which she will take part during the Rio Olympic Games. Lots of luck, Mireia!
