OHL enters Vietnam with two construction contracts for 81.5 million euros

The OHL Group has entered Vietnam with two construction contracts that together amount to 81.5 million euros. The aim of both projects, in which OHL leads the consortia with local firms, is the construction of two sections of highways.
OHL Construction has been awarded these projects as a result of its activity in Southeast Asia from its Asia-Pacific Area. To operate in the area, it set up the subsidiary OHL Construction Pacific and has carried out major commercial activity in Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines and Vietnam. In the latter it has opened a representative office in Hanoi, as well as in Hong Kong.
The first contract was signed on February 14 at the headquarters of the Vietnam Expressway Corporation in Hanoi. Its purpose is to construct a 13 km section of the highway linking the north and south, at the height of the Vietnamese city of Da Nang, located in the center of the country. This wok is financed by Japan International Cooperation Agency.
The second project was signed on February 21 at the Department of Transportation of the Regional Unit in Hai Phong City. It consists of the construction of the Niem 2 Bridge viaduct, with a length of 543.7 m and eleven spans, for a four-lane highway at the entrance to the coastal city of Hai Phong. This city is located in the Gulf of Tonkin, in the South China Sea, 120 km to the east of Hanoi, and has one of the most important trading ports in Vietnam, with major industrial and commercial activity.
