OHL has achieved the highest score in the CDP Climate Change 2015
November 6, 2015
The OHL Group has obtained the highest score -100A- in the CDP Climate Change 2015, thanks to which it now belongs to the Climate A List (former Climate Performance Leadership Index-CPLI), which covers the world’s 5 % of companies with the highest score and performance. This result has positioned OHL as a reference enterprise amongst IBEX 35 members, due to its commitment to transparency and the management of climatic change.
In transparency matters, OHL has reached a good position in the last four editions of the Climate Disclosure Leadership Index (2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015). Amongst other issues, this indicates that the company is integrating climatic change into its business strategy as one of its priorities. Moreover, the Group is also taking part in the CDP Supply Chain since 2011; CDP Water since 2012; and, for the first time in 2015, has participated in the CDP Forests questionnaire on deforestation.
Since 2009, OHL is voluntarily and publicly participating in the CDP initiative, and has reached a high position in participant ranking. The Group contributes to the Climate Change program through the CDP Iberia 125 Climate Change sample, which analyses climatic change strategies in the 125 largest listed companies in Spain and Portugal, evaluating both Performance -in relation to steps taken in climatic change on an increasing scale of E to A- and Disclosure- analyzing the amount of detail and understanding of this reporting, on a scale of 0 to 100.

Luis García-Linares, General Corporate Manager of the OHL Group, has been in charge of gathering the distinction granted to the company for its inclusion in the A List, at an event where the 2015 Climatic Change CDP Report was presented (Iberia 125 Edition), held on 4 November in Madrid at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment. As part of this event, a round table was arranged entitled “The path to COP21: Main actions in Spain. Expected results of negotiations and the financing of Spain’s green economy”, which Manuel Villén joined, as Director of Innovation and Sustainability of the OHL Group.
During his speech, Manuel Villén highlighted OHL Group’s Commitment in Energy and Climatic Change matters, established in 2007. This has materialized in an Emission Reduction Plan, amongst others, which is targeted at reducing scopes 1 and 2 by 5 % in 2015 with respect to 2010, and an Emission Compensation Plan in force since 2011. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of innovation to respond to a green growth model, by offering new sustainable solutions and technologies.
