OHL Industrial has been awarded the construction of a cement plant in Colombia worth 225 million euros

OHL Industrial has been awarded the construction of a cement plant by Ecocementos, a company whose ownership is evenly shared by the Colombian group Corona and by the Spanish company Cementos Molins, at the price of 224.6 million euros (238 million dollars).
The plant will be built in the city of Sonson, in the department of Antioquía (Colombia), with a production capacity of 3,150 tons per day of clinker and approximately 1.35 million tons of cement per year, which will bring growth to the industry and greater development throughout the area of Antioquía. The outlook is so promising that the plant is expected to generate approximately 220 direct and 250 indirect jobs when it becomes fully operational, in addition to an average of 800 jobs in the course of its construction.
The project will be performed under the turnkey modality (EPC) and includes from the primary crushing stage through to the dispatch of cement, either in sacks or in tanks.
The technology chosen will be from FLSmidth, a leader in the cement sector and a company with which OHL Industrial has been working for several years.
With this contract, OHL Industrial consolidates its presence and its vocation as a builder with EPC, turnkey projects within the cement and mining field throughout the American Continent and, in this way, will also be well placed for undertaking new projects.
