OHL Industrial successfully connects the first photovoltaic plant to the grid
March 10, 2011
OHL Industrial, OHL Group’s division dedicated to the execution of industrial turnkey projects, has connected to the electricity grid the La Olmeda photovoltaic plant, located in San Vicente del Palacio (Valladolid), after successfully passing all tests.
The joint venture OHL Industrial and Proener EPC La Olmeda executed the project for the renewable energy developer Fotowatio Desarrollos Renovables in six months. The project entailed the design, supply, construction, installation and commissioning of the 6 MW plant, with nominal power of 5 MW, as well as the facilities necessary for its connection to the grid.
The plant was successfully connected to the grid on November 18, 2010, and has an estimated annual production of 9024 MWh / a, which is equivalent to the annual consumption of more than 2,200 homes. With this production over 6,100 tons of CO2 emissions from fossil fuels are avoided.
The Certificate of Provisional Acceptance was signed by the client in late 2010, therefore OHL Group’s industrial division has now successfully completed their first project in the energy sector.
