OHL Industrial, the OHL Group division specializing in the execution of turnkey EPC projects, has been awarded a contract by Ence to build the largest renewable energy biomass power plant in Spain. The plant will be built in Huelva and will use biomass as its main fuel.
The budget totals €125 million and includes the engineering, procurement and construction of a power generation plant and another adjoining facility for the processing of biomass. With a total installed capacity of 50 MW, the project will cover the electricity needs of 360,000 people and is scheduled to be completed in one and a half years.
Besides construction, OHL Industrial will undertake the operation and maintenance of both plants over a period of two years from the start of commercial operation, a period which is extendable up to five years.
This award reinforces the strong position held by OHL Industrial in the renewable energy industry, both nationally and internationally, for the execution of turnkey EPC projects.
