The OHL Group has been awarded the construction  of the new Curicó Hospital in Chile,  a project worth 230 million euros. The contract was awarded by Chile’s Ministry of Health, through the Directorate of Architecture of the Ministry of Public Works. The facility will have a total built-up area of 102,930 m2 distributed on 9 floors, two of which will be underground. The areas to be used for hospital care include 8 emergency room cubicles, 5 integrated delivery rooms, 27 medical procedure cubicles and 52 physician offices for clinical specialists. The center will be designed to an energy efficiency model and will have a parking area for 800 vehicles and a heliport for emergency medical transfers within the national health network.

Work is scheduled to commence in the month of October, and BIM methodology (Building Information Modeling) will be applied to the construction process.
