OHL is granted the best international growth prize by AmChamSpain

Juan-Miguel Villar Mir, chairman of the OHL Group, collected the best international growth prize (large company category) from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Spain, at the first edition of the Trade & Innovation Awards. The event was attended, amongst other personalities, by the U.S. ambassador in Spain and honorary chairman of AmChamSpain, Alan D. Solomont, and Jaime Malet, chairman of AmChamSpain.
The Trade & Innovation Awards acknowledge the effort of those U.S. and Spanish companies that promote transatlantic relations and encourage internationalization and business innovation.
The OHL Group has incorporated internationalization and innovation as the main pillars of its strategy for growth. Currently, the Group is present in over 30 countries all over the world and its main economic parameters reflect its firm commitment to the foreign market. Thus, in 2011, the OHL Group obtained the following from abroad: 70% of its sales, 73% of its staff, 89% of its portfolio, and 89% of its EBITDA.
In relation to the U.S. market, OHL has been operating in the U.S. for ten years now. The Group is present in the U.S. construction sector through OHL USA, with headoffice in Florida and, in the transport infrastructure concessions sector, through OHL Infrastructures, with headoffice in Austin. According to closing data for the 2011 fiscal year, the U.S. is the Group’s second foreign market in terms of short-term portfolio, the third by sales, and the fifth as regards staff.
