OHL joins Forética, a CSR reference association

June 22, 2015

The OHL Group has joined the members list of Forética, a leading business and professional association for Corporate Social Responsibility (RSE) in Spain and Latin America, aimed at encouraging ethical management and social responsibility.

OHL’s membership is part of its strategy to increase its presence and activity in relevant CSR forums both nationally and internationally. Furthermore, it will enable the company to locate new opportunities for success, transferable to a business scenario, to present and share best practices, to develop alliances, to access reference information and research studies, and to establish an active and dynamic platform for dialog with its stakeholders.

As an example of the venture between the OHL Group and Forética, the company has participated in the XIV Sectorial Seminar: The Infrastructures Sector and Corporate Social Responsibility, arranged by the Association and the Chamber of Commerce of Madrid last 17 June. The various activities held during the seminar included the round table entitled CSR Tools for the Infrastructure Sector, with a speech made by Manuel Villén, Director of Innovation and Sustainability of OHL Group, explaining the Code of Conduct governing OHL; he also pointed out the importance of new technologies to ensure that the Code is effectively distributed amongst all stakeholders.

Forética, an institution that includes more than 140 organizations and more than 100 private members, belongs to the board of directors of CSR Europe, an international business network that leads the promotion of Corporate Social Responsibility in Europe; it belongs to the Latin American Companies Forum network and is Spain’s sole representative on the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. Furthermore, it owns Rule SGE 21, the first social responsibility management system that allows an entity to voluntarily obtain a certification.
