OHL México, the first year of its sustainable report

June 2, 2014

OHL México completed the first step towards the company’s membership of the Sustainability Index of the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV). This first fiscal year has involved the publication of an integrating document and microsite about CSR and Sustainability in OHL México, hosted on the company’s website (www.ohlmexico.com.mx).

This first step should continue in the future with the systematic issue of annual sustainability reports in Corporate Governance matters, Social Responsibility and the Environment, the three pillars of business sustainability.

The BMV Sustainability Index (Sustainable RPI) is nearly three years old and gathers all those companies listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange with outstanding sustainability, according to the principles foreseen in the United Nations Global Compact.

The document published by OHL México is divided into four sections: an introduction, basically consisting of the company’s express commitment to sustainability, and three sections on company practice in each essential sustainability matter.

The report includes the code of conduct applied to the company and its employees, and its governing principles. It also describes the actions, initiatives and outlook adopted by the company both globally- as part of the OHL Group- and specifically, in relation to OHL México.

The practice of Mexican issuers in the matter has been appraised by the independent firm Experts in Responsible Investment Solutions (EIRIS), through Ecovalores, and Centro de Excelencia en Gobierno Corporativo (CEGC), belonging to Universidad Anáhuac México Sur.

For their task, these experts have used the public information available in sustainability matters at 31 May, and the final assessment applies the weightings indicated below.
